A position for a postdoc researcher at the Technical University of Denmark, National Food Institute, is to be filled by a candidate with experience in analytical chemistry. The new employee will be responsible for running two on-going projects on inorganic nanoparticles in food and on selenium in human plasma, respectively. The two projects involve: Use of field-flow fractionation coupled with light scattering detectors and ICP-MS for separation, characterization and detection of nanoparticles. Use of sample preparation techniques, such as enzymatic digestion, of food containing silica or silver nanoparticles prior to their characterization and analysis. Validation of established methods of nanoparticle analysis in food according to a standard operation procedure. Quality assurance and reporting of an on-going program for analysis of selenium and selenoprotein P in human plasma.
The successful applicant has experience with mass spectrometry-based methodologies, preferentially applied to analysis of engineered nanoparticles in food. Knowledge about HPLC and ICP-MS and experience using electron microscopy for imaging of nanoparticles are additional advantages. Applicants with relevant professional experience are invited to apply for the position. Applicants should have a PhD degree or equivalent.
