Postdoctoral Position at University of Regensburg in Molecular Microbiology and Gene Therapy, Germany

Postdoctoral Position to work in our BMBF funded joint research project GerontoShield. The objective of this project is to draw on a Systems Biology driven approach to understand the molecular processes affected during immunosenescence to derive strategies to overcome these processes in order to establish immune interventions tailored for the elderly.

  -The candidates should have a doctoral degree in molecular biology, biochemistry or cell biology. -A strong background in immunology is required. -Experience with tissue culture, flow cytometry and mouse immunology is desirable. -Experience with analysis of gene expression profiles and sequencing data and/or proteomics would be advantageous. -The candidates should be strongly motivated, team-oriented, have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated record of scientific achievement through peer-reviewed publications. -The position is available immediately for a period of 2 years with the possibility of prolongation. -Salary is according to TVöD, depending on academic level and previous experience. -The University of Regensburg is committed to employing more handicapped individuals and especially encourages them to apply. -The University of Regensburg seeks to increase the number of women in those areas where they are underrepresented and therefore explicitly encourages women to apply.
