Postdoctoral Fellowship in Membrane Biophysics at University of Copenhagen, Denmark 2012

The research project for this position will be focused on mechanical measurements on nerves with atomic force microscopy in combination with electrical recordings. Experience in the handling of an AFM is helpful. The project will involve the preparation of nerves from crayfish and studies on other nerves that will be prepared in collaboration with the University Hospital. The successful candidate will collaborate with a Ph.D. student in the same group. The scientific background is described in Heimburg & Jackson. 2005. PNAS 102, 9790.

The candidate must have a PhD or anticipated degree in Physics, Physical Chemistry or Biophysics and be highly motivated to pursue a career as an independent scientist. The candidate must be creative with original ideas, and has to be able to plan and work independently. He will be responsible for the above project. Previous experience in cellular biology is of advantage
