PhD Studentship in the Department of Effect-Directed Analysis at the Helmholtz Centre, Germany

The Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research – UFZ is a research institution within the Helmholtz Association. It provides scientific contributions to the safeguarding of the natural basis of life and of human development potentialities for current and future generations under the challenges of global and climate change. In this way the UFZ contributes towards a sustainable development.

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who is well educated in analytical and environmental chemistry and (eco)toxicology and is enthusiastic to integrate both experiences in an interdisciplinary work. Practical skills in effect testing, the work with cellular and sub-cellular biological systems, chromatography (HPLC and GC) and mass spectrometry as well as in modelling and computer work are very much appreciated. We presume a specific interest in questions related to environmental pollution and its effects, the readiness for interdisciplinary and international collaboration and the capability of working independently. Applicants should hold a Diploma or Masters degree.
