Master’s Scholarship for Students from Sri Lanka at Japanese Universities, Japan

The Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship program (JDS) has been started in Sri Lanka since 2009. Up to now, a total of 15 fellows have been sent to Japan under the program and another 15 fellows will be sent in August 2011. JDS Program is now inviting potential applicants who understand its aims and are interested in 2 year master’s degree program at Japanese accepting universities for the academic year 2012-2013. The program will be instructed in English. The number of dispatches is 15 per year.

-Citizens of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka -Below 40 year of age (Born on/ after April 2, 1972) -Has a Bachelors degree -Be a confirmed officer of the All-island Services in any of the four ministries. -Should possess both written and oral communication skills in English. Preferable minimum requirement is IELTS Academic Module 5.5 as overall score. -Candidates who have not got the above minimum score are required to take IELTS exam on 5 November 2011. The IELTS exam and its fee will be arranged by JICE.
