The Arthritis Foundation’s grant program exists to support and promote the best research structured to find answers to questions about the prevention, control and cure of arthritis and related rheumatic diseases. The ultimate goal of the program is to improve the lives of people touched by these diseases. The Arthritis Foundation is also committed to expanding the number of arthritis-focused investigators. The program supports the basic and clinical research of people in various stages of their research career.
Fellowships may be awarded to U.S. citizens for study abroad if it seems in the best interest of the candidate’s future career. However, no provisions are made for travel expenses. Foreign citizens may be funded only if their training is conducted at a U.S. institution. Awards may not be transferred outside the U.S.Applicants are not eligible after four years of post-degree laboratory experience.
